Joe McNally kommt zur Nikon Solutions Expo am 15. & 16. Mai nach Köln und hält dort Workshops zum Thema “Hot Shoes” – also Blitz- und Lichttechniken.

Dies ist auch das Thema seines neuesten Buches “The Hot Shoe Diaries“! Joe schreibt in seinem Blog über das Buch:

“The book will not be an instruction manual. Basically, it will be an irreverent brain dump of my whole history using small flash, back from when I first got my hands on flash powder to the SB-900. There will be sections on buttons and dials, batteries, flash attachments, light shaping tools from gaffer tape to umbrellas, and sketches. Along the way, of course, there will be lots and lots of pictures, some good, some not so. (Some will even outright suck!) I’ll show the ups and downs and sideways of using flash in the field. Mistakes, which I’m very open about, come with the package.”

Martin vom Blog kwerfeldein, meint über ‘Joe McNallys frisches Buch über großes Licht aus kleinen Blitzen’: “Also eigentlich empfehle ich keine Bücher, die noch gar nicht auf dem Markt sind und die ich somit noch nicht gelesen habe.  Aber heute mach ich mal ‘ne Ausnahme…”

Und eine weitere Besprechung von Scott Bourne besagt: “This is the best book I’ve ever read on flash photography – period. And it’s not just because Joe knows flash or because he’s a great teacher. It’s because he’s all those things AND a great photographer.”
