Laut Wikipedia ist Light drawing “a photographic technique in which exposures are made usually at night or in a darkened room by moving a light source or by moving the camera.”
Der in München lebende Künstler Simon James verwendet diese Technik:
“Light drawing with a digital camera is created by setting a long exposure time and photographing light at night. Moving the camera creates lines. Different light sources produce different colour temperatures and frequencies i.e. Tungston is yello-orange and constant, where – as street lights which ignite a gas create dashed of dotted lines of differing colours, depending on type, so it is possible to paint with light.
This type of photography has been called the antithesis of photography because it goes against the standard idea of making sharp representative images.
I like the idea that the implement of drawing and recording are one and the same thing, however you can also set the camera up on a tripod and move a light in front of the lens by hand. A group called LICHTFAKTOR make animations using this technique.”
Simon meint “I will also be showing the light drawings at the Domagk exhibition at the Dach Labyrinth in Haus 45 from this Thursday till Sunday, so I am devoting time to it now.”
