Here’s how each session is structured
(1) I start each session with an empty stage and then I build the lighting set-up for a particular kind of lighting look from scratch, explaining everything as I go, all step-by-step.(2) Then, I actually do a portrait shoot live in each class, sharing all the camera settings, lighting settings, and exactly what you need to do to nail that type of look.
(3) Finally, I take those images into Photoshop to show you how to do all the post processing, including editing the Raw image, all the portrait retouching techniques, and the finishing effects, so you see the entire process, from beginning to end, with nothing left out.
Not only will you be able to nail all these exact same looks, (using a simple, inexpensive studio lighting set-up), but best of all you’ll learn all the post processing techniques as well.
This all takes place in every class session, all day long—–the lighting set-up, then the shooting, and then all the post processing for every set-up, and every look.
I hope you’ll join me in one of these cities. It’s only $99 for the full day of training (or $79 for NAPP members), and includes a detailed, step-by-step workbook that follows along exactly with what I’m doing in the class.

Dear Scott, have you ever thought about stopping with photography because you were frustrated about your results over a period of time? Have you ever been frustrated at all because of your pictures?
Which was your first Photoshop-Pic? And why did you do it?
Hallo, the question which i askes photographers quite often is about the process of creating the picture. How it is in your case before U start the session do u have an exact image in your mind and u just use technic to make it or do u start witn an flobal idea and try to exeperiment looking forward what will become – is doing photo just final process of creating or starting point? thank you.
What inspires you when you are taking pictures ?
What is creativity – what are it’s preconditions and how is it affected by business contraints if you have to earn a living through a job in that area?
How are you?
I would like to ask Scott, at which point and how he decides to do things right at the shooting or to do it in the post. Is time the criteria, or budget, or what? Does he decide on his own, or is the make-up artist, the client, or whoever involved?
Cheers
Kai
How much time do you spend on post-production versus the actual photo shoot?
Hey, we are addicted to photography, otherwise we would not do the job. can you remember your most boring and most interesting shooting?
If you are hungry, do you take better or worse photos?
Have you EVER shout “say cheese” to evoke a smile upon someones face who you wanted to portrait?
How do you calculate a shoot perfect, so you spend exactly the time you´ve planed and not even more (like me sometimes…)?
Ich finde es toll, dass ihr die Fragen an Scott bereits in seiner Muttersprache verfasst – vielleicht werden wir sie dann überhapt per Mail beantworten lassen – was meint ihr zu dieser Idee?
Gruß Pia
When is the next PhotoWalk?
Hi Scott, what is your biggest wish to photograph that does not happened yet?
@Pia: Idee: macht es wie bei creativelive – dreh ein video wo Du die Fragen LIVE stellen lässt und Scott auch Live antwortet. Das ganze dann als Goodie auf youtube!
Any idols???
hi scott,
which would be your dream function/filter/action in the next Photoshop CS version?
Hi, Scott,
If you could choose one person on the face of this world to take her/his portrait – who would it be and why ?
Thanks and kind regards
Claudia
